Songwriting & Music Production
In this weekly 90 minute, hands-on workshop you'll write and record original songs at a professional music studio, be eligible for live performance opportunities, and gain resources for music distribution to release your songs to online stores and streaming platforms! Each member of the workshop will receive support and resources to be successful at their current level of experience. For this upcoming round we have a Songwriter Night scheduled on March 14th at Scribble in Highland Park. All participants in the Songwriting and Music Production program will be eligible to perform!
Make Your Band!
This special edition of our band program is intended for songwriters and musicians interested in performing original songs! If you have written original music and/or would love to support other songwriters in a live band, look no further! During this intensive program rehearsals will be extended to 3 hours culminating in a live show where you can invite your audience to attend and listen in to your new band's debut show!

Video Vibes
This course is designed for students interested in promoting their music with the visual medium. We will be combining our curriculum for digital marketing with video creation! Artists in Video Vibes will develop a video pieces to coincide with their music releases and explore strategies for marketing their music. Students in video vibes should be ready to develop their visual presence on platforms like Youtube, Instagram and Tik Tok, producing several video pieces around their music and artistry.

Music Scoring
Get hands on composing for projects at Spec Labs! This may include films, staged productions or animated videos. You'll receive training to work with a digital audio workstation, creating music in many styles and genres. Students are encouraged to have access to music software at home and a midi keyboard. Keyboard and software may be provided for an additional fee if needed. This class is open to all levels!

Studio Engineering
In this 6 week class you will learn how to setup and operate microphones, recording equipment and a digital audio workstation in a professional recording studio. You'll also get behind the desk to engineer recording sessions for musicians as well as voice actors, everything we produce professionally in-studio at Spectrum Laboratory! After attending this class students may be given opportunities to engineer during some Spectrum Laboratory projects, classes, and gigs.
